Wings

Wings, black as night,
Beat the air as they climb.
Higher and higher, they rise,
Lifting you up, above the darkness.

Wings, bright as day,
Threaten to pull you under.
Under the waves of despair,
Stripping you of all hope.

Wings, gray as love,
Beats the white away.
Soothes the darkness
And shares the Dark's burden.
